THE PROCESS

1

Write to us and tell us your story. Tell us why you'd like to be a part of this project.

2

We'll reach out to schedule a tattoo with you. We also offer non-permanent body art done with skin markers.

3

You'll do the photoshoot with us. This is an organic, informal photo shoot. We're looking to capture your energy so come as you are. It's normal to feel a bit awkward or nervous before a photoshoot, but we do our best to make it a low pressure, comfortable experience. Lastly, you'll give us any other photos, letters, or memorabilia that you'd like us to potentially include. We'll ask you to write a brief description of your experience and what you'd like to say to those who will view your human art profile.

4

Lastly, you'll give us any other photos, letters, or memorabilia that you'd like us to potentially include. We'll ask you to write a description of your experience and anything you'd like to say to those who will view your human art profile. Your statement might be words of wisdom, a quote or poem, or some other personal message to the world.

We use non-toxic skin markers and stencils that simulate permanent tattoos. Non-Permanent Body Art is an option for those who may not medically be able to get tattooed or for those seeking the ceremonial experience of being honored, decorated and photographed without the commitment of a permanent tattoo. Due to the lack regulation restrictions [as opposed to permanent tattoos due to blood-borne pathogens], we're able to do more intimate group ceremonies. Non-permanent body art allows for multiple people to participate in ceremonial activities such as women's circles, prayer circles, chanting or emotional support groups.

Permanent Tattoos using the highest quality ink and equipment at our private studio. For those seeking the ceremonial experience of being honored, decorated and photographed with the commitment of a transformational tattoo. Due to health regulations, we're unable to do the same ceremonies as with non-permanent. We are unable to do ceremonial circles but we can still accommodate small groups within our private studio if you'd like to do this with a friend or two.

PRIVACY

You'll have the option of using your first name or we will use a false name to protect your privacy. You also have the option of doing a photoshoot that includes images of your face or we can creatively take photos that do not allow for facial identity.

VIRTUAL ACCESS

You'll receive virtual access to the photos taken. They are ownership of Sailia Tattoo Studio, but you are free to show, print and use them for any personal use.

LIVING ART

COLLECTION

THE

Capturing the lives of everyday clients

This is a project by Sailia Studio in which everyday people are asked to share a part of their journey with us. For many, tattoos are ceremonial. It's common that client's come to us during a period of transition, reclamation, immense grief, to honor a life lesson, or perhaps in great gratitude or celebration. This project was inspired by Sailia when she began to notice that her everyday interactions with clients were anything but ordinary. She found herself preserving these important conversations, heartfelt moments, and incredible stories of client's lives in her heart- hoping to remember each one. As a photographer and figure artist, Sailia also found herself with a desire to photograph her clients in a more captivating way than by simply taking photos of her tattoos. She wanted to capture the essence of the person, the soul and spirit of those she had worked with. And so, The Living Art Collection was born. This is a voluntary experience in which a client receives a permanent or temporary tattoo from us, shares what they'd like to with us, and completes a photoshoot with us. We hope to someday create a book with the collection.
